Cardinal Sean O’Malley is in Israel, visiting Christian religious sites

Shortly after returning from Rome for the conclave to elect a new pope, Cardinal Sean O’Malley departed Boston again this week for a pilgrimage to Israel.

The head of the Archdiocese of Boston, along with 29 other priests from the Archdiocese, has been in Israel since Monday, an archdiocese statement said. The pilgrimage, which began Monday, will take O’Malley and the others to nearly two dozen Biblically significant sites in one week.
