US Representative Joseph Kennedy III has created his own political action committee. The Democrat formed his 4MA PAC as a leadership PAC, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission. It has not reported any contributions. The commission defines a leadership PAC as a political committee established, financed, maintained, or controlled by a candidate or federal officeholder. Many members of Congress form leadership PACs to support other candidates for federal and nonfederal offices. A Kennedy spokeswoman said he formed the PAC because he wants to support candidates and causes he believes in.
