Chafee held up the Marriage Equality Act after signing it into law. Rhode Island is now also the 10th state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage.
The governor (right) was thanked by supporters after the signing as people gathered to celebrate at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence.
