Taunton man fatally stabbed after alleged home invasion

A Taunton man was fatally stabbed and another male was injured early Saturday after an alleged home invasion in Brockton, according to authorities. Jonathan Semedo, 18, was killed after being stabbed numerous times, according to a statement released Sunday by Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Brockton Police Chief Emanuel Gomes. Police found the two men with stab wounds at 517 Summer St. about 4 a.m. after receiving reports of a possible home invasion. Semedo was pronounced dead at Brockton Hospital; the other man was treated for a minor cut to his neck and released, authorities said. It was unclear if the men lived at the residence, were visiting, or if they took part in the alleged home invasion. The case is under investigation by State and Brockton police. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 508-941-0234.
