MBTA: Man transported to hospital after walking into bus

A man has been hospitalized after walking into the back of a turning MBTA bus near the Public Garden in Boston, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said.

Boston police said they received a call for the accident at the intersection of Boylston and Arlington Streets just before 11:45 a.m. The man walked into the “rear quarter” of a slow-turning Route 55 bus, Pesaturo said in an e-mail.

The man was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for cuts on his leg, he said. The extent of his injuries was unclear.

No one on the bus was injured in the “minor” accident, Pesaturo said. No further information was immediately available.
