Authorities capture inmate who allegedly walked away from Concord state prison

Police have captured a state prison inmate who allegedly walked away from his work release job Tuesday, the Department of Correction said. Freddie Deya, 25, formerly of Leominster, who was a prisoner at the medium-security Northeast Correctional Center in Concord, was declared missing at 11:10 a.m., Correction spokeswoman Cara Savelli said in an e-mail. He was serving 5 to 6 years at the prison following his 2009 conviction on assault and battery charges in Worcester Superior Court, she said. Deya was captured around 12:45 p.m., Savelli said.
