Police investigate Brockton shooting death

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 45-year-old man in Brockton Tuesday. Brockton police responded just after 4 p.m. to reports of multiple gunshots and a man lying in a driveway on Belmont Street, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Brockton Police Chief Emanuel Gomes said. Police found Charles Evans of Brockton with apparent gunshot wounds to his chest, officials said in a statement. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
