Former state rep. faces drug charges

Former state representative Stephen Doran faces drug trafficking charges after he allegedly received a package containing more than 400 grams of methamphetamine at a Jamaica Plain charter school where he works as a tutor, authorities said.

Doran, 57, of Dorchester, was arrested by State Police Tuesday afternoon after leaving the Match Charter Public Middle School, where he is a tutor and where he allegedly received a package containing 480 grams of a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
