John F. Barros and Councilor Rob Consalvo became the fifth and sixth mayoral candidates to qualify for the ballot Wednesday when election officials verified that each had submitted signatures from at least 3,000 registered voters. Four other candidates have had enough signatures tallied to make the ballot in the Sept. 24 preliminary election: state Representative Martin J. Walsh, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, and Councilors at Large John R. Connolly and Felix G. Arroyo. Election officials continue to count signatures on nomination papers for nine other potential candidates.
