Golar Richie joins crowded field in Boston’s mayoral race

Charlotte Golar Richie became the ninth Boston mayoral candidate to qualify for the ballot when election officials verified Tuesday that she had submitted signatures from at least 3,000 registered voters. Eight other candidates have had enough signatures verified to make the ballot in the Sept. 24 preliminary election: state Representative Martin J. Walsh; Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley; Councilors John R. Connolly, Felix G. Arroyo, Rob Consalvo, and Charles C. Yancey; John F. Barros; and Bill Walczak. Election officials continue to count signatures on nomination papers for six other potential candidates.
