An armed home invasion in Fitchburg Tuesday night erupted into a high-speed chase early Wednesday as troopers attempted to stop two vehicles seen fleeing the scene of the break-in, State Police said. State and Acton police stopped a white Lexus in Acton after pursuing it along Route 2 eastbound, but a white Dodge van eluded authorities after leading troopers into Lawrence, State Police spokesman David Procopio said. At least one person who was in the Lexus was detained. Procopio did not know if the person had been arrested.
