State Police appeal Quabbin decision

State Police are appealing a decision by a clerk magistrate not to issue criminal complaints against seven people allegedly found trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir last month. The five men and two women were not arrested, but went to District Court in Belchertown for a show-cause hearing, where the clerk issued a continuance without a finding and declined to issue criminal complaints. Spokesman David Procopio told The Republican newspaper in Springfield that because the trespassing happened at a ‘‘critical infrastructure’’ site, State Police asked for judicial review of the decision. Police said the seven people are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, with addresses in Massachusetts and New York City.
