State Police fire ex-trooper convicted of extortion

State Police Colonel Timothy M. Alben has dismissed John M. Analetto from the Massachusetts State Police, ending the law enforcement career of the Belmont man convicted of extorting money on behalf of a bookie in US District Court in May.

Alben’s administrative action was announced in a brief statement issued by the department today. Analetto was a trooper for more than 20 years.
