Temperatures will feel like 100 degrees

A heat advisory is in effect today for much of Eastern Massachusetts, including Boston, where thousands are gathering on the Esplanade for Fourth of July festivities. Temperatures in the mid-90s will combine with high humidity to make it feel like it’s more than 100 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

The forecasters recommended minimizing outside activity during the hottest part of the day, staying out of the sun, staying in an air-conditioned place, and drinking plenty of water.
