A Springfield man has pleaded not guilty to murder and gun charges in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend. Terrance Brown, 22, was arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court in the killing of Tyshianna Atkins, 19, on Thursday. The Springfield Republican reported that a large group of Atkins’ friends and family members attended the arraignment. Court officers ushered the spectators out after an outburst from one man. Police said Brown shot Atkins in the chest in a Federal Street apartment, then dragged her body outside and left it on the sidewalk. Atkins was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
