The police department said it has taken numerous complaints regarding solicitors calling residents and posing as representatives from a medical alert company. Police said the callers say they are from the Senior Alert Care Co. Callers say a family member has bought a medical alert system for the resident. The callers say it would cost the resident a monitoring charge of $1 a day and ask for a credit card number to set up an account. Police advise people not to give out their credit card numbers.
