Vermont’s Santa’s Land has new owners, reopens

Santa’s Land is open once again. The Billewicz family had been following the story of the Christmas-themed park in Putney, Vt., since December 2011, when the 54-year-old attraction was closing. The family recently acquired the park. They reopened Santa’s Land July 7 for seven days a week until Labor Day. After that, the park will be open weekends until Christmas. Lillian Billewicz told the Brattleboro Reformer that the family wants to leave a lot of the attractions, yet restore those that need attention. The old black train has been scraped down and redone. The sleighs have been repainted. The park now has a clothing store for infants and toddlers. Pathways are lined with huge candy canes. New selections will also be on the snack bar menu.
