Two indecent assaults reported in Dorchester

Police are warning women in the Ashmont Street area of Dorchester to be on the lookout after two reports of indecent assaults in the neighborhood. In the first incident, which took place shortly after midnight Friday at the intersection of Ashmont and Burt streets, a woman reported being approached by a man who tried to start a conversation with her before he allegedly put his hand around her head, police said on their website. Boston police said the woman bit the alleged attacker’s thumb before the suspect groped her and fled. At 7:10 Monday morning, a second woman reported a man groped her as she was jogging on Dorchester Avenue near the Ashmont MBTA station, police said.
