Maine police say a pickup truck drove onto a sidewalk Friday night and struck three bicyclists, critically injuring a man and a toddler riding in a bicycle seat. Police say 51-year-old Saco resident Jamerico Elliott and the 15-month-old boy were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland in critical condition. Another bicyclist, 30-year-old Melodie Brennan, was also hit. She was treated at a hospital and released. Police say the bicyclists were struck by a small truck driven on Route 1 by a 56-year-old Kennebunkport man. After hitting the bicyclists, the truck struck a parked car, sending both vehicles into a nearby home. The force of the crash forced a granite foundation block into the residence, causing a loss of electricity and water.
