A machete attack in Providence has left one person injured, officials said. WPRI-TV reported that police were called to a parking lot early Saturday, where a witness reported seeing a man wielding a machete attacking the victim, who suffered a severe wound to the shoulder and lost a lot of blood, but was listed in stable condition at a hospital. A Providence police spokesman did not return phone calls seeking information about a motive or the identities of the victim and the attacker.
