Robbers tussle with armed 71-year-old homeowner

Authorities said they are seeking two men who burglarized a Poland home early Friday and fled after scuffling with the 71-year-old owner. According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, homeowner Ronald St. Pierre woke up and had a silver .44 Magnum revolver nearby when two men broke into his home. The men overpowered St. Pierre and the gun was fired during the altercation, but no one was shot, the sheriff’s department said. The two men took the gun, clothing, and other items, authorities said.
