Services Saturday for ‘Ma Siss,’ Boston’s ‘Mother Teresa’

Idene "Ma Siss" Wilkerson (right) was known for her work in her Dorchester neighborhood.

A homegoing service for Idene Wilkerson, who was known to all as Ma Siss, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Love Tabernacle Church in Dorchester.

Family and friends will gather at the church an hour before the service.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Roslindale.

A matriarch of her Dorchester neighborhood, Ma Siss was a guiding force behind the creation of the Quincy Street Missional Church.

She died Aug. 21 at 76.
