Chicopee man accused of arson is working on deal

A Chicopee man charged with setting a series of fires in Berkshire County may be close to a plea deal. Stuart Zebrowski, 55, was in court Wednesday for a hearing. His attorney and the prosecutor asked that the case be placed on the November trial list. The Berkshire Eagle reported that both sides told the judge they were in discussions on a possible resolution prior to trial. Zebrowski has pleaded not guilty to 31 charges and is being held on $25,000 cash bail. He is charged with setting four empty buildings on fire, starting 15 brush fires, and breaking into several homes from 2009 until April 2012 while driving a delivery truck for a Springfield linen company.
