Dedham man injured skydiving, now out of hospital

A 32-year-old Dedham man was released from a Maine hospital Saturday after he broke his leg while skydiving, a spokesman for the skydiving company said.

The unidentified man had participated in more than 500 jumps, said Eli Bolotin, a safety adviser for the US Parachute Association and employee of Skydive New England.

After an “uneventful” jump Friday afternoon at Skydive New England’s campus in Lebanon, Maine, the man did not level out properly while landing, Bolotin said.

The Lebanon Rescue Department transported him to a nearby hospital, and he was transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland before being released, Bolotin said.
