Two Boston University police officers on motorcycles were injured in a collision with a car on Commonwealth Avenue at Agganis Way, in the heart of BU’s West Campus Sunday afternoon. Sergeant Michelle Fotev of the BU police department said the officers were knocked off their motorcycles when a driver and the motorcycles collided about 2 p.m.

Both officers were taken to area hospitals, treated for minor injuries, and released. The driver was not cited, a Boston police spokeswoman said.

The officers were assigned to the Matriculation Walk, a university activity that invites students from the class of 2017 to walk as a group from their dormitories to Agganis Arena for an official matriculation ceremony with classmates and parents.
