A 4-year old Providence boy has been hospitalized after being attacked by the family pit bull. The Providence Journal reported that police Lieutenant Richard Fernandes said the attack occurred about 3 p.m. Sunday in the city’s West End. The unidentified child suffered severe facial wounds and was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where he was expected to undergo surgery.
