The eastbound side of the Ted Williams Tunnel will be closed tonight into Wednesday morning for maintenance work, officials said.
State Police, Boston police, maintenance crews, and contractors will begin setup for closure of the Interstate 90 tunnel at 11 p.m. The full closure begins at midnight and will continue until 5 a.m. Wednesday, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said in a statement.
Detours will be in place.
Crews will be cleaning drains and washing the walkways, ceilings, and walls of the tunnel, the statement said.
Other complete lane closures this month include Interstate 90 on Sept. 17-18, the statement said.
