Man tries to lure 9-year-old girl into car in Duxbury, police say

Duxbury police are investigating an incident in which a man tried to entice a 9-year-old into his car.

At around 6 p.m. Sunday, the girl was walking alone on Buckboard Road when the man drove up, said Duxbury Police Officer Jim Tougas.

The man told the girl he had something for her in his car. The girl started running. The man followed her. The girl began yelling, and the man drove off, Tougas said.

The vehicle was described as a small, black sedan with round headlights.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, with a medium build, and medium=length messy brown hair. He was wearing a heavily stained T-shirt, Tougas said.
