A man died in Mattapan on Thursday evening after authorities found him outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, said Boston police. The man, whose identity has not been released, was found on Norfolk Street at around 6:02 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a statement. Yellow police tape shut down Norfolk Street at Hosmer Street past Clarkwood Street, keeping the crowds who gathered at bay. Some onlookers were in tears while police investigated. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Boston police.
