Man dies after being found unconscious in bar bathroom

A 30-year-old man has died after being found unconscious early this morning in a bathroom at the Bell in Hand Bar & Restaurant near City Hall, police said.

The man was found at around 2:28 a.m. at the bar on Union Street, which is also just down the street from the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

A manager of the bar was not immediately available for comment.

The bar’s website says it hosts karaoke on Tuesday evenings.

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 617-343-4248.
