Gomez visits Washington to gauge ‘political landscape’

Gabriel E. Gomez, who was the Republican nominee in this year’s special US Senate election, ventured to Washington DC on Wednesday to explore his political prospects, but stayed noncommittal about which office he might seek.

“I’m looking at a lot of different things,” including private-sector options, Gomez said in a telephone interview. He said he would consider the post of state treasurer, the office some Massachusetts Republicans hope he pursues.
