Man brandishes pistol, robs Cambridge bank

The man approached the tellers and pointed a black pistol in their direction, demanding money. He threatened to harm the tellers if they did not hand over the cash, the bureau’s statement said.

The man was carrying a black bag or backpack. He placed the stolen money in a white bag that he pulled from the black bag.

He then ran in an unknown direction, the FBI said.

The man is described as white, about 50 years old, between 5 foot 7 and 5 foot 10, with gray hair. He wore a green military-style hat, dark jacket, dark green cargo pants, and white shoes.

The FBI is offering a reward to anyone who provides information leading directly to the arrest and charging of the suspect.

The FBI violent crimes task force and the Cambridge police are investigating the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 617-742-5533 or Cambridge police at 617-349-3300.
