A motorcycle rider died after hitting a pole and crashing on the eastbound side of Storrow Drive Wednesday afternoon, State Police said.

Storrow Drive east of the Bowker Overpass was closed as police investigated the 2:50 p.m. crash.

State Police said that preliminary evidence suggested that only the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man, was involved in the crash, but that investigators are still unsure of all the circumstances.
