East Bridgewater police said a 27-year-old Brockton man is facing charges after he was caught on surveillance video stealing a change jar from the lobby of the police station. Officer Mark Harvey said the man was brought to the station to fill out a no-trespassing order, but had not been arrested. Surveillance video shows the man looking around to make sure no one is watching, then slipping the jar into the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt before heading for the exit. Police told The Enterprise that the jar placed in the lobby to raise donations for the department’s antidrug DARE program had $15 to $20 in it. The man will be summoned to court to face a misdemeanor charge of larceny under $250.
