Vandals spray reverse swastika on sign for Hyannis synagogue

Police are searching for several suspects who went on a spray-painting spree in Hyannis early Friday and left a backwards swastika on a sign for a synagogue.

Besides the swastika, the suspects also painted swirls and designs on two auto parts stores on Winter Street, as well as in a rest area off Route 6 between exits 7 and 8, said police Sergeant Sean Sweeney. Police believe the vandalism occurred around 3 a.m. Friday.
