Equipment, cash taken during break-in at middle school

During a break-in at Wayland Middle School Friday night, some equipment and cash was taken, according to a report by the superintendent of schools.

“To my knowledge, five interior doors were pried open and some equipment was taken from the library, as was a small amount of cash from the cafeteria,’’ Paul Stein said in an e-mail to the community on Saturday.

“To say the least, this crime is an upsetting intrusion about which I wanted to make sure you were aware,’’ Stein wrote.

Police are investigating.
