A Beverly woman woke up Saturday to find a stranger sleeping on her couch and her kitchen in disarray, police said. The Glidden Street resident called police at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday when she found a young woman on her couch, said Sergeant Richard Russo. The homeowner and officers woke the stranger, whose breath smelled of alcohol, Russo said. The young woman said she did not remember entering the home. It appeared that she came in through a kitchen window, Russo said. The young woman was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
