Former state senator Dianne Wilkerson has been released from a federal corrections facility and is back in Boston, her family says. Wilkerson’s son, Cornell Mills, confirmed in a phone interview that she had been released, and another relative said she returned to Boston about a week and a half ago. Wilkerson, 58, a Roxbury Democrat, pleaded guilty in June 2010 to several attempted extortion counts for taking thousands of dollars in bribes. She was sentenced to 3½ years in prison.
