DA says no charges in crash death of Amherst cyclist

Prosecutors said no charges will be filed against the driver of an Amherst College box truck involved in a collision that killed a bicyclist. Livingston Pangburn, 22, of Granby, died in the May 26 crash. He was a Hampshire College student originally from Newton. The Northwestern district attorney’s office said Tuesday that Pangburn was eastbound in heavy traffic on College Street and did not stop when other traffic did to allow a westbound truck to turn left to the campus. The district attorney’s office said Pangburn was not able to maneuver around the truck to avoid the crash.
