Police seek suspect in indecent assault

A woman was the victim of indecent assault and battery in South Boston early Monday morning, police said. The suspect approached the victim from behind near Athens and Dorchester streets around 12:45 a.m., Boston police said in a statement on their blog, bpdnews.com. The suspect was described as a heavyset man, 5-foot-11, with a large stomach, police said. He fled in an unknown direction. No additional details were known Monday evening. Police are requesting that anyone with information call the sexual assault unit at 617-343-4400.
