Vermont State Police said a man wearing a clown mask tried to rob a convenience store in Fairlee on Friday evening. A Champlain Farms employee told police that the man came into the store shortly after 8 p.m. and demanded all of its cash. When the staff refused to hand over money, the suspect threatened them with violence and then fled, police said. The suspect is described as about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He was wearing a clown mask, red sweatshirt, and jeans, and had dark-colored bloodshot eyes.
