Officials say four students at a Fall River middle school are facing charges in connection with an alleged assault that resulted in injuries to a school resource officer. Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown said the episode occurred earlier this month at Morton Middle School and involved boys ages 15, 12, and 11 and a girl age 14. The 15-year-old student was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault on a public employee, resisting arrest, and disturbing a school assembly. Mayo-Brown told the Herald News that the four students were seen outside the school on Oct. 9 and were asked to come back inside. The alleged assault occurred inside the school. (AP)
