Motorist charged in death of I-95 pedestrian

A Rhode Island motorist has been accused of striking and killing a pedestrian on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket. Conner Forsythe of Hope was charged with driving under the influence resulting in death early Sunday morning. State Police say he struck the unidentified man walking in the center lane of 95 south. The victim was struck by another vehicle and declared dead at the scene. Police are withholding his name until his family is notified. Police report a call at 4:40 a.m. of a man in dark clothing along the highway. A second call reported he was lying in the highway. A third caller said he struck what he believed was debris. Forsythe is in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday. It was not known Sunday if he is represented by a lawyer.
