Providence skating rink set to open for season

The skating rink in downtown Providence is about to open for the season. The Providence Rink is scheduled to open Wednesday afternoon. If it rains that day, the rink will open Thursday instead. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. General admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Skate rentals and season passes are available. Mayor Angel Taveras will hold a tree lighting at the rink Dec. 7.
