A three-alarm fire broke out in Lawrence this afternoon forcing firefighters to evacuate the building before part of the roof collapsed, officials said.
The fire broke out in a three-family home on Monmouth Street at 1:49 p.m., a Lawrence Fire Department dispatcher said.
The cause of the fire to the wood-frame building is still unknown, the dispatcher said.
As of 3 p.m., firefighters were still battling the blaze from outside the home, the dispatcher said.
No one was injured.
