A sergeant on the Boston College campus police force will receive the first-ever Sean Collier Award from a state campus law enforcement association. Jeffrey Postell’s work in community policing is being honored by the Massachusetts Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. The award is given in memory of Collier, the MIT police officer killed, allegedly by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. He has served on the BC force for four years. He was promoted to sergeant two years ago and took over managing the department’s crime prevention and community policing initiatives and working as the department’s community relations liaison.
