Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in Jamaica Plain

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Jamaica Plain Tuesday night, police said.

The woman was hit near the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Amory Street shortly after 8 p.m., Boston Police Officer Nicole Grant said. She was taken by ambulance to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she died at about 9:30 p.m., police said. The driver of the vehicle was also taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, although Grant said it was not clear if the driver suffered any injuries. It was not immediately known what type of vehicle hit the victim. No further information was available Tuesday night.
