WRENTHAM, Mass. (AP) — Two motor vehicle charges against the widow of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev have been dismissed.
Katherine Russell was charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding and driving an unregistered motor vehicle in Franklin in August.
The charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an unregistered motor vehicle were dismissed. Russell paid $150 in court costs.
She was found responsible for speeding, which will remain on her driving record.
Russell’s lawyer said she was moving around a lot during a traumatic time in her life and may not have realized her license had been suspended.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev died following a shootout with police four days after the April 15 bombing. His brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
