Police seek suspect in robbery of Woburn pharmacy

Authorities seek public’s help in identifying thieves who robbed drugs and stole clerk’s engagement and wedding rings

Authorities are searching for three men who robbed a Walgreens drug store in Woburn at gunpoint, terrorizing two clerks and robbing one of them of both her engagement and wedding rings.

Dramatic store surveillance video captured the robbery that took place around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at 675 Main St., according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan and Woburn police.

Authorities released the video, hoping that someone may recognize the men, who wore hooded sweatshirts tied closed around their faces, gloves on their hands, and appeared to have multiple layers of clothing on.

Two of the men were armed with handguns, authorities said.

During the robbery, the pharmacy clerk was forced at gunpoint to open a locked cabinet and hand over a large quantity of prescription drugs. After she complied with their demands, the thieves forced her to the floor and stole her rings, authorities said.

The clerk working the front cash register was forced to the floor by the third thief, who tied her up with zipties, and threatened her, authorities said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Woburn detectives at 781-933-1212.
