Former Brown spokesman subpoenaed in N.J. bridge scandal

A onetime spokesman for former US senator Scott Brown who now works for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been subpoenaed in the probe into the bridge traffic jam that other Christie aides allegedly inflicted on a Democratic-led city as political payback.

Colin Reed, who was a press secretary for Brown in the Senate and during his reelection campaign, is among 18 who were served with subpoenas last week in the unfolding investigation. The subpoena was issued by the New Jersey State Legislature’s Select Committee on Investigation and was posted online by The Record. It gives Reed less than three weeks to produce any documents or electronic records related to the closure of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, N.J., last September.
